Yiwu, Zhejiang Province's imports and exports exceeded 600 billion yuan for the first time in the first three quarters of this year

Hangzhou, October 29th (Xinhua) -- Since the beginning of this year, Yiwu, Zhejiang has continued to unleash its potential for foreign trade growth. According to statistics from Yiwu Customs, Yiwu's foreign trade imports and exports exceeded 600 billion yuan for the first time in the first three quarters of this year, reaching 631.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.3%. Among them, exports amounted to 553.99 billion yuan, an increase of 25.7%; Imports amounted to 77.21 billion yuan, an increase of 31.3%, both reaching historical highs.

From 'welcoming guests' to' knocking on the door globally ', more and more Yiwu merchants are opening up new trade channels. In May of this year, more than 110 foreign trade enterprise leaders from Yiwu formed a group to "go abroad" and compete for orders, flying to Jakarta, Indonesia to participate in the overseas first exhibition of the "Yiwu International Fair". "We are now actively exploring more overseas markets, and only by constantly going out can we open up Xintiandi," said Huang Changchao, the boss of stationery business in Yiwu.

The layout of diversified markets is also intuitively reflected in trade data. In the first three quarters of this year, Yiwu had import and export trade with 227 countries and regions worldwide, of which 181 countries and regions achieved year-on-year growth in trade volume, an increase of 29 compared to the same period last year. It is worth mentioning that in the first three quarters, Yiwu's import and export to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" reached 429.39 billion yuan, an increase of 28.9%, accounting for 68% of Yiwu's total import and export value in the same period.

The innovation of trade methods and the increasingly improved commercial infrastructure have also injected momentum into Yiwu's foreign trade. Since the beginning of this year, Yiwu (Suxi) International Hub Port has officially opened, and the Zhejiang China Europe freight train assembly center has accelerated the expansion of its network and points, further reducing the fulfillment costs of Yiwu's foreign trade. At the same time, Yiwu actively promotes market merchants to embrace the digital transformation.

On October 14th, the sixth generation market global digital trading center in Yiwu, Zhejiang opened for operation. More than 3700 new merchants rely on a stable cross-border network to communicate and negotiate business with global merchants in real-time. Zhu Xingping, Deputy General Manager of the Global Data Trade Center, said that the Chinagoods platform set up by the Data Trade Center provides one-stop trade services for global traders, including customs duties, transportation, warehousing, and financing.

Our export orders have been scheduled for next year, "said Yiwu merchant Wang Nan." We will continue to deepen our market cultivation, actively adapt to changes, and strive to achieve continuous growth in sales
