Australia launches double counter investigation into flat rolled steel products related to China
On October 24, 2025, the Australian Anti Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2025/111, stating that in response to an application submitted by BlueScope Steel Limited, a domestic Australian company, anti-dumping and countervailing investigations have been initiated against Certain Flat Rolled Steel Products imported from China, as well as anti-dumping investigations against flat rolled steel products from South Korea. The products involved are flat rolled steel products of non alloy steel or other alloy steel (excluding stainless steel, silicon steel, tool steel, and high-speed steel), without coating, plating, or coating, non rolled, with a thickness greater than or equal to 4.75 millimeters and a width greater than or equal to 600 millimeters, with or without embossed patterns. The Australian customs codes for the products involved are 7208.40.00.39, 7208.51.00.40, 7208.52.00.41, 7208.9.00.30, 7225.40.00.22, and 7225.40.00.24. The investigation period of this case is from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025, and the damage investigation period is from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2025. The Australian Anti Dumping Commission is expected to complete the basic factual report of this investigation no later than February 11, 2026, and submit the final ruling report to the Australian Minister of Industry and Science no later than March 30, 2026.
