The world's third and only Boeing 777 modification core hub in the Asia Pacific region has landed at Qingdao Airport
On October 15th, accompanied by the loud roar of airplanes, a Boeing 777 wide body passenger plane entered the country under the supervision of "repair items" and slowly entered Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport. This marks the official entry of the Shandong Taikoo wide body aircraft passenger to cargo conversion project into the substantive production and operation stage. Qingdao Airport has become the third global hub and the only hub in the Asia Pacific region for Boeing 777 retrofitting.
Our company mainly engages in aircraft maintenance services, including aircraft body overhaul, structural modification, etc. The smooth arrival of this aircraft is an important step for the company's development, "said Deng Zixi, the manager of the customs department of Shandong Taikoo Aircraft Company.
In recent years, driven by the development of new trade formats such as cross-border e-commerce and high-end manufacturing, global freight demand has continued to rise, bringing new development space to the cargo aircraft market. At the same time, the phenomenon of insufficient air cargo capacity is becoming apparent, and the conversion of civilian passenger planes into all cargo planes is bringing significant benefits to the industry.
In this context, Qingdao has introduced a production line for converting Boeing 777 wide body passenger planes into cargo planes, which not only helps Qingdao expand its aviation maintenance and repair track, but also collaborates with Qingdao to build an international shipping center, driving the development of high-end shipping industries such as shipping finance and aircraft leasing, and further enhancing the competitiveness of Qingdao's international shipping center.
The modification project involves multiple aspects such as aircraft entry and exit, maintenance of aviation materials circulation, fuel supervision, and disposal of dismantled parts, which puts higher demands on the existing business model of customs and the strengthening of positive supervision.
Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Customs has established a "customs enterprise direct connection" mechanism, selected business backbones to tailor various security plans for enterprises, innovatively launched the "repair goods+bonded" business model, effectively reduced the operating costs of enterprises in repairing aviation materials, aviation fuel, etc., and ensured that emerging industries can be "landed, accepted, and connected quickly", injecting development momentum into the development of Qingdao's aviation industry.
At the same time, we are implementing a full chain supervision model for the project, which includes' full closed-loop, classified supervision, and single cargo matching '. The aircraft body is declared according to the' repair item 'supervision method, and the customs clearance process is simplified to reduce capital occupation. Some maintenance aviation materials are imported in a bonded mode, fully enjoying the geographical and policy advantages of Qingdao Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone, "said Wang Zhiwei, Deputy Customs Director of Qingdao Jiaodong Airport.
