Recently, there have been media reports that France and Germany are drafting a joint document calling on the European Commission to strengthen relevant trade and economic security tools. Recently, the EU and its member states have taken frequent restrictive measures at the legislative and administrative levels, with a clear tendency towards trade protectionism, which has deeply concerned the relevant industries in China. Restrictive measures in the fields of trade and investment do not fundamentally enhance the competitiveness of the EU's own industries, but instead undermine mutually beneficial cooperation between enterprises and the stable and smooth supply chain, and have adverse effects on the interests of the EU industry and consumers. The China Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronics has taken note of the solemn stance of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on trade protectionism and its firm determination to safeguard its own economic and trade interests, and fully supports this. The China Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronics always firmly believes that China and Europe should seek effective ways to address each other's concerns in the spirit of mutual respect and friendly dialogue.
