Sichuan Daily: Sichuan's foreign trade imports and exports increased by 6.3% year-on-year in the first three quarters, ranking first in the western region in terms of total import and export value

On October 15th, it was learned from Chengdu Customs that the total import and export value of goods trade in Sichuan in the first three quarters of this year was 825.46 billion yuan, ranking ninth in the country and first in the western region, with a year-on-year growth of 6.3%. Among them, exports amounted to 449.49 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.5%; Imports amounted to 375.97 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.1%.

General trade and bonded logistics imports and exports maintained double-digit growth. In the first three quarters, Sichuan's general trade imports and exports amounted to 333.18 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.1%; The import and export of bonded logistics reached 116.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.6%.

The number of foreign trade entities has expanded, and the import and export of private enterprises have maintained growth. In the first three quarters, there were 10525 enterprises with import and export performance in Sichuan, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year, setting a new historical high for the same period. Foreign invested enterprises, private enterprises, and state-owned enterprises all saw growth, with private enterprises importing and exporting 307.55 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.2%.

The import and export of the top three trading markets have all increased. In the first three quarters, Sichuan's imports and exports to ASEAN, the United States, and the European Union increased by 12.5%, 1.6%, and 3.1% respectively. Import and export to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" reached 360.45 billion yuan, up 5.4% year on year.

The export is mainly focused on mechanical and electrical products, with an increase in the export of "new three types" products. In the first three quarters, the export of electromechanical products was 361.52 billion yuan, accounting for 80.4% of the total export value. The export of "new three types" products reached 26.46 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%. Among them, the export of lithium batteries, photovoltaic products, and electric vehicles increased by 20.3%, 11.6%, and 2.3% respectively. The export of agricultural products reached 6.76 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.6%.

The proportion of imported electromechanical products exceeds 70%, and the import of consumer goods is growing rapidly. In the first three quarters, the import of mechanical and electrical products was 282.42 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%, accounting for 75.1% of the total import value. The import of consumer goods was 21.59 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 46.9%, of which the import of edible aquatic products was 5.84 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 62.2%.
