Ministry of Commerce: China will work with Europe to promote the development of dual-use goods trade between the two sides
Beijing, October 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong stated on the 15th that China will continue to work with Europe to play the role of the export control dialogue mechanism and promote the development of dual-use goods trade between the two sides.
On that day, the Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference. Regarding the issue of rare earth export licenses, He Yadong stated that China is willing to continue providing convenience for the approval of rare earth export licenses to Europe, and also hopes that Europe can provide convenience for the reciprocal resolution of key dual-use license cases to China. China will continue to play the role of the export control dialogue mechanism with the European side to promote the development of dual-use goods trade between the two sides.
At the press conference, He Yadong also emphasized that the understanding reached between the two sides in the field of hybrid vehicles is mutually beneficial and based on the three principles emphasized and confirmed by both sides under the framework of WTO rules, namely full process compliance, respect for facts, and non discrimination. The consensus has effectively safeguarded the actual interests of Chinese enterprises and avoided the escalation of trade frictions between China and Europe.
This fully demonstrates that consultations between China and Europe based on rule-based consensus can not only solve problems, but also deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and promote upward balance and development of China Europe trade, "said He Yadong. The understanding reached by both parties is within the framework of WTO rules. Regarding specific details, both China and Europe will continue to maintain communication. China will also openly and transparently listen to industry opinions on this matter
