The total international trade volume of Cambodia in the first three quarters of this year increased by over 20% year-on-year

Phnom Penh, October 9 (Xinhua) -- According to a statistical report released by the Cambodian General Administration of Customs on the 9th local time, the country's total import and export of goods exceeded 57 billion US dollars in the first three quarters of this year, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%. Among them, the export value was 27.09 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 21%; The import value was 29.916 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 21.6%.

Statistics show that from January to September this year, the total trade volume between Cambodia and China reached 17.583 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 23.8%. China continues to maintain its position as Cambodia's largest trading partner. During the same period, the United States and Vietnam were Cambodia's second and third largest trading partners, with bilateral trade volumes of $12.469 billion and $6.586 billion, respectively.

The report released by the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce on the 8th differs slightly from the customs statistics. According to data from the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, the country's total import and export volume reached 58.49 billion US dollars in the first nine months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%. Among them, the trade volume between Cambodia and members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) reached 35.79 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%.

Cambodia's main export commodities include clothing, footwear, tourism supplies, machinery and electrical equipment, agricultural products, bicycles, tires, furniture, and other manufactured goods. Officials from the Ministry of Commerce stated that Cambodia will continue to promote diversified export markets and strengthen trade facilitation to expand opportunities for Cambodian products in the international market.
