Ningbo's imports and exports to ASEAN exceeded 150 billion yuan in the first 8 months

The 23rd China ASEAN Expo opened in Nanning today. Since the beginning of this year, the economic and trade exchanges between Ningbo and ASEAN have continued to heat up, injecting new momentum into regional economic and trade cooperation. According to Ningbo Customs statistics, in the first 8 months, ASEAN was Ningbo's second largest trading partner, with Ningbo's import and export volume to ASEAN reaching 156.56 billion yuan, an increase of 12.1% compared to the same period last year.
Among them, the export value was 93.84 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of about 22%, mainly consisting of electromechanical products, high-tech products, and labor-intensive products.
In the production workshop of Ningbo Aromatherapy Era Home Furnishings Co., Ltd., workers are rushing to produce a batch of semi-finished aromatherapy components for Vietnam. "The production of core raw materials and accessories is carried out in China. After the production of these special wax based raw materials, essence and packaging accessories with traditional Chinese patterns is completed, they will be transported to our production base in Southeast Asia for filling and finished product assembly." Zhou Youjun, the business manager of the company, said that this model can not only enable enterprises to give play to the advantages of research and development and efficiency of the domestic supply chain, but also can more flexibly connect with the logistics nodes in the international market through overseas assembly. In the first eight months of this year, Aromatherapy Era exported over 100 million yuan to ASEAN, a year-on-year increase of over 12 times. The company plans to further expand overseas production capacity and continuously optimize its global production and allocation capabilities.
In terms of imports, Ningbo imported 62.73 billion yuan from ASEAN in the first 8 months, mainly consisting of mineral products, agricultural products, etc.

In the first eight months, Rongbai New Energy imported 89.734 million yuan of resource products such as nickel wet smelting intermediate products from ASEAN, a year-on-year increase of 5.81 times.
In response to the high import frequency and strong timeliness requirements of resource-based products, Ningbo Customs has optimized its regulatory services by starting from the inspection and evaluation process.
