Green channel for export of agricultural products from China and Mongolia: allowing more high-quality fruits and vegetables to go abroad
Recently, the Erlianhaote highway port in Inner Mongolia has been busy. 22 refrigerated containers loaded with fresh fruit and vegetable products have completed customs clearance procedures and are being transported to Mongolia through the China Mongolia Agricultural Products "Green Channel".
Erenhot Port is the largest land port between China and Mongolia, with obvious geographical advantages. Along the railway and highway from Erenhot to the hinterland of Mongolia, about two-thirds of Mongolia's population resides, and 80% of Mongolia's vegetable and fruit demand is guaranteed through the Erenhot port. These fruits and vegetables leave the country through the Erenhot Port in the morning and can be placed on the dining tables of Ulaanbaatar citizens that evening. Since the approval of the Erenhot area of the China (Inner Mongolia) Pilot Free Trade Zone in April 2026, the dividends of institutional innovation have been continuously released, allowing more high-quality fruits and vegetables to go abroad and injecting strong impetus into the improvement and expansion of bilateral trade between China and Mongolia.
Since the beginning of this year, 132900 tons of fruits and vegetables have been exported through the Erenhot Port, an increase of 14.32% compared to the same period last year; The value of goods reached 332.2 million yuan, an increase of 53.53%.
While enjoying the convenient customs clearance measures such as priority document review, priority inspection, and priority release provided by the customs, the application for certificates and document uploading have been further simplified. In addition, with the green channel for local inspection, our business processing speed is getting faster and faster. With a working time of one hour, it can be compressed to less than 20 minutes, "said Yingchun, a salesperson at Haogang Fruit and Vegetable Grain and Oil Import and Export Park Co., Ltd. in Erenhot City.
In order to ensure the efficient operation of the "green channel" for agricultural products between China and Mongolia, the Second Customs has deepened the "inspection first, shipment later" supervision mode based on measures such as priority review, priority inspection, and priority release, and has advanced the inspection process from the end of the port to before the enterprise loads the goods. Adopting innovative measures such as intelligent loading and unloading monitoring, instant sealing, and non-invasive inspection to improve export efficiency, reduce customs clearance costs for enterprises, and promote rapid growth in fruit and vegetable exports.
According to statistics, since the opening of the "Green Channel" for agricultural product exports between China and Mongolia in 2018, as of August 24, 2026, the total amount of exported fruits and vegetables under the supervision of Erlian Customs has reached 1.005 million tons; The trade volume reached 2.076 billion yuan, and the export varieties included more than 20 types of vegetables such as cabbage, sweet pepper, and broccoli, as well as more than 10 types of fruits such as apples, watermelons, and bananas.
