The value of e-commerce goods shipped in the first seven months of this year has reached nearly three times the total volume of last year.
In the Baijie Port Supervision Warehouse in Meishan Port Area, Zhoushan Port, Ningbo, various types of loose cargo such as mechanical and electrical accessories, home hardware, and festival supplies are neatly stacked. Under the supervision of Meishan Customs under Ningbo Customs, inspection, release, and loading are carried out efficiently throughout the entire process. With the continuous changes in the foreign trade market pattern, new formats such as market procurement and cross-border e-commerce continue to develop rapidly, and foreign trade orders are showing a new trend of small batches, multiple batches, and fast turnover in the industry. In order to optimize the business environment at the port and facilitate more flexible and efficient consolidation and export for enterprises, Ningbo Customs has leveraged the convenience of export through reform and continued to promote the innovation of the "inspection before shipment" regulatory model. From January to August this year, under the "inspection before shipment" mode supervised by Ningbo Customs, a total of 142000 TEUs were exported with a value of over 62.65 billion yuan.
Data shows that in the first half of this year, the import and export scale of cross-border e-commerce reached 1.45 trillion yuan, driving employment of over 10 million people. The penetration rate of cross-border e-commerce+artificial intelligence continues to increase, and relevant institutions estimate that the AI application rate of cross-border e-commerce enterprises exceeds 60%. Cross border e-commerce AI applications have been upgraded comprehensively, extending from traditional product selection and intelligent customer service to core processes such as product listing, advertising, logistics fulfillment, risk management, and return and exchange decisions.
The vitality of foreign trade growth is also reflected in the new business model of "bonded+". In the first eight months of this year, the import and export scale of bonded logistics in China reached nearly 6 trillion yuan, an increase of 42.3%. In Jiangsu, the first "bonded maintenance finished product processing and re export" business was successfully launched in Wuxi High tech Zone Comprehensive Bonded Zone in July this year, without the need for cross-border declaration throughout the process, reducing material circulation time by 90%, and reducing comprehensive logistics costs by more than 90%. At the same time, the new model helps manufacturing companies secure overseas customer resources. According to statistics from Kunshan Customs, a subsidiary of Nanjing Customs, from January to August this year, the import and export of bonded maintenance business in Kunshan Comprehensive Bonded Zone reached 3.78 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%.
Driven by technological innovation and industrial upgrading, high-tech and high value-added products have become the main growth engine of foreign trade, "said Yang Tao, Director of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce. In the first eight months of this year, the import and export of mechanical and electrical products reached 19.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 24.9%. Among them, the import and export of integrated circuits increased by 68.1%, and the import and export of computers and components increased by 60.5%; High tech products such as industrial robots and 3D printers have also achieved rapid growth. 'Made in China' provides strong support for the development of the global digital and intelligent economy.
Green and low-carbon have become the distinctive background of China's foreign trade development. Currently, the global green transformation process continues to advance, and China's green products perfectly meet the development needs of various countries. In the first eight months of this year, the import and export of electric vehicles, lithium batteries, photovoltaics and other products increased by about 40% year-on-year. Orders for wind turbines, green ships, energy-saving and environmental protection equipment and other products are also steadily increasing, meeting the green development needs of relevant countries.
