By cultivating foreign trade entities, optimizing export structure, expanding international markets, strengthening leading industries, and upgrading open platforms, Baoji City achieved solid results in promoting high-quality development of foreign trade in the first half of the year, with a total import and export value of 3.747 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.93%. Among them, exports reached 3.168 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.88%, while imports reached 579 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 345.72%, achieving a leapfrog development in import trade.

Relying on the resource endowment of "China Titanium Valley", Baoji City has formed an export pattern with titanium and new materials, equipment manufacturing, textile and clothing as the main force, and coordinated development of characteristic agricultural products. At present, the number of trading partners in Baoji City has increased to 133, an increase of 9 compared to the same period last year, and the trade volume with 12 countries has exceeded 100 million yuan; Import and export business to Germany, Russia, Türkiye, Thailand and other countries and regions doubled, and the diversified and globalized trade development pattern continued to consolidate. At present, there are 539 actual foreign trade enterprises in Baoji City, with a net increase of 40 or an increase of 8% compared to last year, including 47 import and export enterprises with a scale of over 10 million.

Anchor the positioning of "the Belt and Road" as an important node city for opening up to the west. Since the "14th Five Year Plan", Baoji has continued to tackle the construction of high-energy carriers for opening up to the outside world. It has been approved as a national cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone. It has built a high standard Baoji Port Area and Baoji Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and has built an open support system for cross-border trade, international logistics, and bonded processing. With Baoji Comprehensive Bonded Zone as the core carrier area, Baoji City has built supporting facilities such as import and export commodity warehousing and display centers, supervision workplaces, etc., achieving full mode cross-border e-commerce clearance. Currently, Baoji City has 272 cross-border e-commerce entities. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, Baoji City completed a total foreign trade import and export value of 45.355 billion yuan, an increase of 10.748 billion yuan compared to the 13th Five Year Plan period. In the first half of the year, Baoji Comprehensive Bonded Zone achieved import and export of 610 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 555.6%, accounting for 16.3% of Baoji's total foreign trade value; The customs supervision site of Yangping Railway has been successfully put into operation, with a total of 219 international trains shipped in the first half of the year, with a cargo weight of 275000 tons and a value of about 1.6 billion yuan. The logistics channel has been further opened to the outside world.

Huang Ning'an, Deputy Director of Baoji Municipal Bureau of Commerce, said that, in the next step, Baoji will build an open trade highland integrating double circulation, radiating the northwest and connecting domestic and foreign countries with the goal of building a regional trade center adjacent to Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan and Ningxia, a regional modern trade logistics hub, and a highland open to the west under the "the Belt and Road" initiative.
