The import and export value of Guangzhou International Port's China Europe freight train reached 4 billion yuan in July

On August 5th, the X8120 China Europe train, loaded with "cool appliances" such as air conditioning, fans, and mobile refrigerators, was released by the Guangzhou Station Customs under the supervision of Guangzhou Customs. It departed from Guangzhou International Port and headed to Europe.

According to Guangzhou Customs statistics, in the first seven months of this year, Guangzhou Customs supervised 217 trains and 21000 TEUs of China Europe freight trains at Guangzhou International Port, with year-on-year growth of 7.4% and 16.4% respectively, and the import and export value reached 4 billion yuan.

The transportation time of the China Europe freight train is about 12 to 15 days, which saves about 18 days compared to sea freight. Currently, portable mobile air conditioners, small fans and other 'cooling tools' are in high demand in the European market, and consumers are rushing to buy them, "said Wang Wenping, General Manager of Guangzhou Suwen Customs Declaration Co., Ltd., who is responsible for the customs declaration of the China Europe freight train goods.

The hot weather in many parts of the northern hemisphere is still ongoing, boosting the demand for exporting "cool home appliances". On the other hand, summer is also a traditional peak season for foreign trade exports, and many companies are rushing to prepare and stock up on related product orders for multiple holidays in the second half of the year.

In the past two months, there has been a significant increase in the booking volume of China Europe freight trains at Guangzhou International Port. Many companies have concentrated on stocking up and shipping to seize the overseas market window. In order to cope with the peak season of China Europe freight trains, Guangzhou International Port has opened multiple temporary trains since June, but the cabin space is still very tight, "said Chen Shaofeng, head of the train operation department of Guangdong Guangwu International Logistics Investment Co., Ltd.

In response to the peak of customs clearance for goods on the China Europe freight train, Guangzhou Station Customs has deeply implemented the "railway fast customs clearance" mode, realizing the electronic data interconnection between customs and railway manifest. Customs conducts cargo review and release in advance based on railway manifest information, and enterprises do not need to declare repeatedly or handle customs transfer procedures separately, greatly simplifying the customs clearance process. At the same time, by applying the "railway fast customs clearance" mode, the China Europe freight train can directly leave the country after arriving at the border port, without the need to declare to the local customs and handle customs transfer procedures, compressing the overall operating time by about 24 hours. At present, the proportion of the "railway express" mode of the China Europe freight train at Guangzhou International Port has increased to over 70%.

In order to further improve the convenience level of customs clearance, Guangzhou Station Customs has also implemented railway safety inspection and customs cargo inspection "one-time unpacking and parallel operation" for customs inspection of goods, avoiding duplicate unpacking of the same batch of goods, maximizing the compression of customs clearance time, and helping foreign trade enterprises to seize time and reduce costs.

At present, the Guangzhou International Port China Europe freight train route has been expanded to a total of 20 "15 out and 5 in" routes, connecting more than 20 countries and 40 cities in Europe and Asia, and serving more than 5000 foreign trade enterprises. (Guan Yue/Text)
