Ministry of Commerce: Continued imposition of anti-dumping duties on imported single-mode optical fibers originating in India

Beijing, August 13 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Commerce announced on August 13 the final review ruling on the anti-dumping measures applicable to imported single-mode optical fibers originating in India.

On August 13, 2025, in response to the application of China's single-mode fiber industry, the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No. 42 of 2025, deciding to conduct a final review investigation on the anti-dumping measures applicable to imported single-mode fiber originating in India from August 14, 2025. The Ministry of Commerce has ruled that if the anti-dumping measures are terminated, the dumping of imported single-mode optical fibers originating from India into China may continue or occur again, and the damage caused to China's single-mode optical fiber industry may continue or occur again.

According to the relevant provisions of the Anti Dumping Regulations of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce has proposed to the State Council Tariff Commission to continue implementing anti-dumping measures based on the investigation results. The Tariff Commission of the State Council has made a decision based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Commerce to continue imposing anti-dumping duties on imported single-mode optical fibers originating in India from August 14, 2026, with a implementation period of 5 years.

It is reported that single-mode fiber is mainly used for high-speed, long-distance, and access network transmission, and is mainly used in long-distance trunk lines, metropolitan area networks, cable television, fiber optic access networks (such as FTTH), and other networks.
