At present, it is the peak season for tropical fruits in Southeast Asia. A Guangxi Vietnam cross-border cold chain train carrying fresh fruits such as durian has successfully arrived at the Pingxiang railway port, and customs officers have carried out on-site inspection work simultaneously.

With superior location conditions, stable railway transportation capacity, and mature cold chain support, Pingxiang Railway Port continues to undertake the import of fruits from Southeast Asia. According to customs statistics, from January to June this year, the Pingxiang Railway Port imported 18000 tons of fresh fruits with a value of 560 million yuan, an increase of 53.8% and 26.8% year-on-year, respectively.

Previously, the transportation of Thai durian to China was mainly through road and sea routes, which were greatly affected by uncertain factors such as weather. However, the fruit train transportation through Guangxi China Vietnam Railway not only had a short time and high stability, but also ensured the quality of durian and reduced operating costs, "said Wei Guozhen, Deputy General Manager of Guangxi Southbound Cross border Transportation Co., Ltd.

To ensure the freshness of fruits, Pingxiang Customs has optimized its supervision and service measures, made every effort to smooth the clearance of fresh fruits, opened a dedicated "green channel" for fresh agricultural products, strengthened linkage with multiple departments, and implemented a "conditional departure" policy for the "Tongdeng Pingxiang Nanning" fruit train, achieving immediate inspection and release upon arrival, and minimizing the detention time of goods at the port. While continuously increasing the speed and efficiency, Pingxiang Customs strictly abides by the bottom line of national biological safety and imported food safety, strictly implements the supervision requirements of the whole process of on-site inspection, quarantine and disinfection and sterilization of imported fruits, and realizes the two-way parallel of efficient customs clearance and strict supervision, improving quality and efficiency.

Pingxiang Customs will continue to optimize the cross-border customs clearance supervision mode for fresh agricultural products, fully unleash the dividends of port opening, and help improve the quality and increase of economic and trade exchanges between China and Vietnam. (Huang Siqi/Text)
