Ningbo, July 14th (Xinhua) -- "Orders have been scheduled until October," said Feng Min, the deputy general manager of an environmental technology company in Zhuangqiao Street, Jiangbei District, Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, pointing to the dense production schedule.
Recently, many parts of Europe have experienced sustained extreme heat waves, with temperatures in countries such as Spain and France breaking through historical highs, and some cities issuing the highest level of heat warnings. Affected by this, the demand for sunscreen and cooling products in overseas markets has exploded, and various "cool manufacturing" companies in Ningbo, Zhejiang have seized the opportunity to go global in bulk.
Entering the production workshop of the above-mentioned enterprise, workers are burying their heads in packing boxes, preparing to package and send the air source heat pump overseas. Sun Dehong, the foreign trade manager of the enterprise, said: "We maintain the shipment volume of 10 containers per month. The last two days, three containers were sent to Slovenia, Kosovo and Germany. Now, three containers from Türkiye are being rushed."
These heat pump units that are about to cross the ocean and focus on the "triple supply" function of cooling and heating are becoming a new choice for overseas consumers to cope with high temperatures. The summer in Europe is getting hotter, and they need to re-examine this machine, "Feng Min said." Previously, European customers only bought heating functions and didn't want cooling vents. In the past two years, vents have been selling better and better. "Data shows that in the first half of this year, the company's foreign trade sales reached 70 million yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year increase of over 50%.
Under the continuous high temperatures in Europe, the demand for cold drinks and cooling equipment among local residents has also increased significantly, in addition to indoor cooling equipment, bringing new opportunities for Ningbo related refrigeration equipment companies to go global.
Ningbo Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd., located in Yuyao, Ningbo, is an enterprise deeply engaged in the research and production of cold drink equipment. Faced with the demand of overseas consumers for instant cooling, the company relied on independent innovation and localization adjustment to independently develop and launch a small patented ice cream machine, successfully entering the niche market. With this precise positioning, the company exported cooling products worth over 11.203 million yuan from January to May this year, a year-on-year increase of 100%.
Some customers have requirements for the size and installation conditions of the machine, and we have specially developed a new ice cream machine based on these characteristics. It has fast cooling and does not require professional installation, which perfectly meets the actual needs of households and small shops, "said Xie Chuanfa, the sales supervisor of the enterprise.
The growth of enterprise orders has also raised higher requirements for the efficiency of customs clearance at ports. It is reported that in response to seasonal export peaks and increasing overseas demand, Ningbo Customs has opened a green channel for the clearance of cooling products. Through convenient measures such as "one enterprise, one policy" assistance and priority document review, it ensures efficient clearance and delivery of seasonal products.
According to statistics from Ningbo Customs, from January to May this year, Ningbo exported "cool home appliances" such as electric fans, refrigerators, air conditioners, and ice makers to Europe worth 2.73 billion yuan.
