Yunnan's coffee export volume leads the country in the first half of the year

According to Kunming Customs statistics, in the first half of 2026, Yunnan exported 8282 tons of coffee with a value of 340 million yuan, ranking first in the country. The products were exported to 40 countries and regions around the world.

Pu'er is the core production area of coffee beans in Yunnan. Pu erh coffee has been selected for the National Geographical Indication Product Protection List and the China Europe Geographical Indication Agreement Mutual Recognition List, becoming a renowned premium coffee brand both domestically and internationally.

To polish this "golden signboard", Pu'er has carried out "quality innovation" from the source of cultivation. Zhou Zhiyan, the person in charge of the planting base of Yunnan Beigui Coffee Co., Ltd., introduced that "we have introduced high-quality disease resistant varieties, comprehensively promoted water fertilizer integrated droppers and green pest control technology, and the improvement of quality directly drives sales growth.

Behind the improvement of coffee bean quality and increase in production, it is inseparable from the technical support of customs. Kunming Customs, under the jurisdiction of Simao Customs, fully utilizes the technical advantages of the National Key Laboratory for Coffee Testing (Pu'er) to conduct systematic testing of soil, irrigation water, and plant pests and diseases in coffee planting bases, guiding enterprises to strengthen pest identification capabilities, establish a dual line of defense of "source control+batch sampling", and steadily improve the yield of high-quality beans from the field. In the first half of the year, Simao Customs supervised the export of Pu'er coffee beans worth 123 million yuan, with over 90% of the exported first grade beans.

In the customs clearance process, the customs also set up a "fast lane" for coffee to go abroad. We implement the 'Escort' action for industrial development, realizing the inspection and release of exported goods as soon as they are declared and qualified. We comprehensively promote the 'cloud issuance' of exit inspection and quarantine certificates and the 'self-service printing' of certificates of origin, enabling enterprises to declare independently, customs to conduct intelligent audits, and the system to issue certificates quickly, effectively reducing enterprise operating costs and helping Yunnan coffee aroma spread overseas. ”Yang Dafu, the head of the Inspection Department of Simao Customs, introduced.
