Fujian's import and export scale to other RCEP member countries continues to rise

This year marks the fourth anniversary of the full implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). Leveraging the policy dividends of RCEP tariff reductions, accumulation of origin, and facilitation of customs clearance, Fujian continues to deepen its industrial and supply chain cooperation with other RCEP member countries such as ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea. In the first half of the year, the total import and export value of Fujian Province to other RCEP member countries reached 320.79 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, accounting for 32.2% of the province's total import and export value during the same period; Among them, exports amounted to 171.16 billion yuan, an increase of 3.1%, while imports amounted to 149.63 billion yuan, an increase of 8.5%.

Fujian, based on its advantageous coastal and port location and characteristic industrial foundation, has increasingly close economic and trade exchanges with other RCEP member countries. Indonesia, Australia, and Vietnam are the main markets for Fujian's trade with other RCEP member countries, with imports and exports of 63.9 billion yuan, 48.22 billion yuan, and 39.25 billion yuan respectively, accounting for 47.2% of the province's total import and export value to other RCEP member countries during the same period. Private enterprises have become the main force in Fujian's development of the RCEP market, with imports and exports to other RCEP member countries reaching 2014 billion yuan, an increase of 10.4%, accounting for over 60%.

In terms of trade structure, import and export work together. On the one hand, Fujian continues to import high-quality products such as bulk commodities, electromechanical products and agricultural products from other RCEP member countries to ensure the stable supply of raw materials in key industrial chains such as equipment manufacturing, fine chemicals and ship building in the province. Among them, bulk commodities, electromechanical products and agricultural products were imported 51.4 billion yuan, 24.48 billion yuan and 20.96 billion yuan respectively, accounting for 64.7% of the total import value of the province to other RCEP member countries in the same period. On the other hand, Fujian's advantageous industrial products continue to deeply cultivate the RCEP market, and the export scale of electromechanical products and characteristic agricultural products continues to expand. The export of electromechanical products reached 71.81 billion yuan, an increase of 9.5%, accounting for 42% of the total export value of the province to other RCEP member countries during the same period, firmly ranking as the largest export category; Among them, the export of electrical equipment was 12.59 billion yuan, an increase of 32%. In addition, exports of dried and fresh fruits and nuts amounted to 1.04 billion yuan, an increase of 61.1%.

To continuously amplify the effects of RCEP policies, Fuzhou Customs continues to deepen the "one enterprise, one policy" assistance services for enterprises, optimize customs clearance processes, and implement convenient measures such as appointment clearance, priority inspection, and intelligent document review. At the same time, joint efforts will be made with local governments, commerce bureaus and other units to provide special services such as tariff reduction, business training, compliance guidance, etc., to help enterprises accurately understand policy points such as rules of origin and trade facilitation, and to safeguard the stable growth of imports and exports of Fujian enterprises to other RCEP member countries.
