The Morocco session of the China Africa Economic and Trade Expo has opened

Casablanca, Morocco, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The "Entering Africa" (Moroccan session) event of the 2026 China Africa Economic and Trade Expo opened on June 10 in Casablanca, Morocco. More than 400 representatives from government departments, business associations, financial institutions, enterprises, and media of China and Morocco attended.

The theme of this event is "China Africa Joint Action to Create the Future Together", which is the first large-scale overseas economic and trade activity of Hunan Province in Africa after China fully implemented zero tariff measures for 53 African countries with diplomatic relations.

At the opening ceremony and China Morocco Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting held on the same day, representatives from China and Morocco had in-depth exchanges on topics such as industrial cooperation and investment facilitation, and signed relevant cooperation agreements. The Hunan New Energy Industry Alliance for Africa was officially established at the opening ceremony, which will coordinate multiple entities including equipment manufacturing, engineering construction, technical operation and maintenance, and financial services, and is committed to empowering high-quality development of China Africa economy and trade.

Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade official Yousef Fadil said that he looks forward to leveraging this event as an opportunity to promote cooperation in fields such as engineering machinery, agricultural product trade, and infrastructure, promote bilateral trade and industrial development, and deepen the mutually beneficial economic and trade partnership between China and Morocco.

This event is jointly organized by the Secretariat of the China Africa Economic and Trade Expo Organizing Committee and the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade, and will last until June 12th.
