Increase by 134%! Ningbo Airport weaves a dense air land logistics network with truck flights

On June 4th, at the cargo terminal of Ningbo Lishe International Airport, a customs supervised "truck flight" loaded with mechanical and electrical components, photovoltaic modules, and high-end electronic materials completed the inspection and sealing operation and orderly departed. Through the air land intermodal transport channel, it was transferred to airports in Shanghai, Xi'an, Qingdao and other places, and sent to the whole country and reached the world.

Truck flights "are an important carrier for air land intermodal transportation, known as" ground virtual flights ". They rely on dedicated vehicles for customs supervision throughout the entire process, open up land transportation channels for transit goods between domestic and international airports, effectively integrate airport sources and route resources, break through the limitations of single airport capacity, and are a key business model for smooth cross-border logistics circulation and helping enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency.

According to the latest data from Ningbo Airport Customs, from January to May, the supervised import and export general cargo volume of "truck flights" at Ningbo Airport reached 3024 tons, a year-on-year increase of 134%. The cross-border logistics radiation and carrying capacity of the port continue to upgrade.

Behind the leapfrog growth in freight volume is the continuous expansion and upgrading of the international freight channel at Ningbo Airport. From January to May, four new international freight routes will be opened to further fill the gap in ocean freight capacity. At present, Ningbo Airport operates a total of 10 international freight routes on a regular basis. Ningbo Airport Customs has established a regular "truck flight" linkage mechanism with 18 key domestic airports including Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Ezhou, Xi'an, and Tianjin.

The dense air routes and efficient intermodal transportation mode precisely benefit various foreign trade enterprises in the local and surrounding areas. Many photovoltaic and electromechanical enterprises' imported precision electronic materials, chip supporting components, solar modules, precision hardware and other goods can be quickly transferred and diverted through Ningbo Airport after landing, relying on the mature "truck flight" network to radiate the national market.

At present, about 50% of imported goods on key ocean routes such as Ningbo to Liege and New York are transit goods, which are efficiently transported to multiple parts of the country through 'truck flights' under the closed-loop supervision of customs.
