Beijing, May 21 (Xinhua) -- During a routine press conference held on the 21st, He Yadong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, answered questions about China's procurement of American agricultural products and stated that both China and the United States should create favorable conditions for two-way agricultural trade, promote the recovery and continuous expansion of trade cooperation in the field of agricultural products.

He Yadong stated that agricultural trade is an important component of China US economic and trade cooperation. After recent economic and trade consultations, China and the United States have reached a series of positive consensuses on promoting the resolution of non-tariff barriers and market access issues for some agricultural products, and have agreed in principle to include relevant products in the reciprocal tariff reduction framework arrangement. At the same time, they have also set guiding goals for expanding two-way trade in agricultural products.
