On April 28th, a China Europe freight train loaded with characteristic products such as diesel engines, tractors, grass and willow weaving, non-woven fabrics, etc. slowly departed from Linyi International Land Port in Shandong and will depart through Erenhot Port to Russia. This train has a total of 110 standard containers with a value of nearly 17 million yuan.

In the first quarter of this year, there were 48 inbound and outbound trains from Linyi to Russia, with a value of 6.547 billion yuan, up 128.57% and 117.21% year on year, respectively, becoming the golden channel for South Shandong to connect and jointly build the "the Belt and Road".

The transportation capacity and trade scale of the China Europe freight train from Linyi to Russia have rapidly increased, benefiting from complementary industrial advantages. As the commercial and logistics capital of northern China, Linyi has more than 130 professional wholesale markets, and its industrial clusters are highly complementary to the Russian market. Agricultural machinery such as cranes, loaders, diesel engines, and tractors meet the urgent needs of Russian agricultural production. Labor intensive products such as grass and willow weaving, non-woven fabrics, and labor protection supplies have high cost-effectiveness and are highly favored by Russian consumers.

In addition to being transported out, it can also be transported in. With the advantage of two-way transportation by the China Europe freight train, high-quality timber from Russia is continuously transported back to Linyi, effectively empowering the development of the local panel furniture leading industry and building a two-way benign trade pattern of industrial product exports and raw material imports.

Through the central channel of Erenhot Port, the entire journey from Linyi to the core cities of Russia only takes 12 to 15 days, which is two-thirds shorter than traditional sea transportation, "said Song Zhen, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Eurasia Railway Logistics Co., Ltd." The overall logistics cost is reduced by more than 50% compared to air transportation, saving about 20% compared to traditional intermodal solutions, and greatly improving the profit margin of enterprises

In order to further reduce enterprise costs, Linyi Customs has innovatively implemented the "freight agent provides information+railway platform sharing ratio" freight deduction model, taking the lead in achieving full coverage of domestic freight deduction for return trains. In the first quarter of this year, Linyi Customs deducted more than 11.6 million yuan in freight charges and reduced nearly 2 million yuan in taxes for trains to Russia.
