In the first four months, the general trade import and export of Fujian Province reached 499.26 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4%, accounting for 77.2% of the total import and export value of Fujian Province's foreign trade during the same period, driving the import and export growth of Fujian Province by 7.2 percentage points. Among them, exports amounted to 281.85 billion yuan, an increase of 3.2%; Imports amounted to 217.41 billion yuan, an increase of 18.6%. During the same period, the import and export of processing trade amounted to 85.27 billion yuan, an increase of 14.8%; Imports and exports through bonded logistics amounted to 53.65 billion yuan, an increase of 4.2%.

Private enterprises dominate the growth of foreign trade, while state-owned enterprises grow rapidly. In the first four months, the import and export of private enterprises in Fujian Province reached 396.58 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2%, accounting for 61.4% of the total import and export value of Fujian Province's foreign trade during the same period, driving the growth of Fujian Province's import and export by 5.6 percentage points. The import and export of foreign-invested enterprises reached 136.77 billion yuan, an increase of 4.2%; The import and export of state-owned enterprises reached 112.38 billion yuan, an increase of 8%.

The development of emerging markets has achieved significant results, with double-digit growth in imports and exports to Latin America and Africa. In the first four months, Fujian Province's imports and exports to ASEAN reached 125.62 billion yuan, an increase of 4%, accounting for 19.4% of Fujian Province's total foreign trade imports and exports during the same period; Imports and exports to the European Union amounted to 86.71 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7%. Imports and exports to emerging economies such as Latin America and Africa amounted to 69.2 billion yuan and 39.42 billion yuan, respectively, with growth rates of 18% and 28.6%. Imports and exports to Australia and Japan amounted to 31.77 billion and 26.58 billion yuan, respectively, with an increase of 1% and 10.7%. Over the same period, imports and exports to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" reached 341.79 billion yuan, up 9.5%; Imports and exports to other RCEP member countries amounted to 209.78 billion yuan, an increase of 5.9%.

The export support for mechanical and electrical products is stable, and the export growth rate of dried and fresh fruits, nuts, steel and other products is impressive. In the first four months, the export of mechanical and electrical products in Fujian Province was 178.28 billion yuan, an increase of 5.1%, accounting for 48.5% of the total foreign trade export value of Fujian Province during the same period, driving the overall export growth of Fujian Province by 2.4 percentage points. Among them, computers and their components, ships, LCD flat panel display modules, and automobiles performed well, with exports of 12.75 billion yuan, 6.56 billion yuan, 6.44 billion yuan, and 6.06 billion yuan, respectively, increasing by 15.5%, 24.6%, 14.5%, and 12.9%. In terms of labor-intensive products, plastic products, furniture and its parts were exported for 12.4 billion yuan and 10.68 billion yuan, respectively, with an increase of 11.7% and 9.3%. In terms of agricultural products, the export of dried and fresh fruits and nuts reached 960 million yuan, an increase of 58.1%; Canned food exports reached 910 million yuan, an increase of 4.5%. In addition, the export of steel reached 6.73 billion yuan, a significant increase of 118.5%, and the export of pulp, paper and its products reached 3.97 billion yuan, an increase of 20.2%.

Mechanical and electrical products have strongly driven the overall import increase, while agricultural product imports have grown rapidly. In the first four months, Fujian Province imported metal ore worth 58.95 billion yuan, an increase of 6.9%, accounting for 21.1% of the total foreign trade import value of Fujian Province during the same period. Among them, the import of iron ore reached 28.69 billion yuan, an increase of 15%. The import of electromechanical products reached 48.3 billion yuan, an increase of 25.6%, driving the overall import growth of Fujian Province by 4.2 percentage points.
