Export volume exceeds last year's total! Fuzhou Port Jiangyin Port Area's vehicle exports exceed 20000 units by 2026

On April 30th, a "Huashan Roll on/Roll off" ship loaded with "Made in China" vehicles set sail from the Jiangyin Port Area of Fuzhou Port and headed overseas, marking that the cumulative export of vehicles from the Jiangyin Port Area of Fuzhou Port in 2026 has exceeded the 20000 vehicle mark, exceeding the total export of the entire year last year. It is reported that a total of 1521 cars were exported from Jiangyin Port, of which 687 were new energy vehicles.

The Jiangyin Port Area of Fuzhou Port is an important hub for vehicle exports along the southeast coast, with nearly 500000 square meters of vehicle storage yards, equivalent to the size of 70 standard football fields. On average, 210 vehicles can be loaded and unloaded per hour, with a maximum of 277 vehicles per hour, which far exceeds the domestic average efficiency level. In addition, the port area has formed a stable roll on/roll off route network, with an average of 4-5 roll on/roll off ships operating per month to meet the demand for a large number of cars heading directly from the southeast coast to overseas core markets. As of now, the Jiangyin Port Area of Fuzhou Port has operated a total of 18 car roll on/roll off ships and exported 20990 vehicles this year.

In recent years, taking advantage of the national "the Belt and Road" initiative, the implementation of the RECP agreement, and the strategic trend of deepening BRICS cooperation, Fujian's automobile exports have been outstanding in emerging markets, especially in the Middle East and Africa. According to statistics from Fuzhou Customs, in the first quarter of this year, Fujian Province's automobile exports reached 4.45 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.1%.

According to He Yonghui, the project manager of China Fuzhou Ocean Shipping Agency Co., Ltd., "The demand differentiation in different overseas markets is obvious, and domestic cars can accurately adapt to various road conditions and consumer preferences. Taking the Middle East as an example, the local per capita purchasing power is strong, but the local industry is relatively weak. Domestic models such as Chery Jetour are heat-resistant, dust-proof, and have good refrigeration, making them very suitable for desert road conditions, and their market share is among the top in China. Another example is South Africa, as the largest automobile consumer country in Africa, its consumer market has a large population base, but the number of cars per thousand people is relatively low, and there is a strong demand for SUVs with large space and high cost-effectiveness. ”

Behind the impressive data, there are a series of efficient customs clearance measures to safeguard it. Fuzhou Customs, under the jurisdiction of Rongcheng Customs, has established an emergency response mechanism for customs clearance affairs based on the characteristics of vehicle export business. It implements 24-hour appointment overtime services to ensure that vehicles are inspected and loaded upon arrival. At the same time, the port relies on the port monitoring platform to create a full process visual supervision, embedding the supervision "imperceptible" into the logistics chain, and actively coordinating and promoting the expansion of supporting service capabilities of various departments at the port.

The characteristics of the whole vehicle export business are large batch size, high time pressure, and long supervision chain. To address this, we have set up a dedicated window for automobile export, where enterprises can declare in advance and book the arrival time with the port according to their own production plan, achieving rapid vehicle inspection and release. At the same time, we have also launched the 'Smart Port Platform Whole Vehicle Business Management System', which can accurately know the departure plan, inventory and inspection records, and achieve digital tracking of the entire process of vehicles from port collection to loading, "said Gao Xiang, Deputy Director of the Transport Vehicle Supervision Department of Rongcheng Customs Office in Fuqing.
