The "hometown of Chinese seaweed" products are supplied to Hong Kong for the first time, opening a new chapter of shared prosperity

On April 13th, a batch of 5000 packs of seaweed products from Zhejiang Xikang Food Technology Co., Ltd. were assessed as qualified by Wenzhou Customs and will soon be shipped to Hong Kong, China. This is the first time that Wenzhou seaweed has been exported to Hong Kong, providing strong support for further opening up the market and enhancing the added value of the industry.
As the core area of the industry, Dongtou District in Wenzhou City has always been known as the "hometown of Chinese seaweed". The seaweed farming area here covers 18000 acres, with an annual output of nearly 60000 tons of fresh seaweed and an annual output value of over 200 million yuan. The total output value of the entire industry chain is close to 700 million yuan, directly driving more than 800 farmers in the jurisdiction to increase their income. The opening of the port supply channel can not only enhance the added value of our products, but also drive the development of the entire industry chain and help fishermen increase their income, "said Yan Haitao, the export manager of Zhejiang Xikang Food Technology Co., Ltd.
In order to help Dongtou seaweed "go global", Wenzhou Customs has taken the initiative to provide policy assistance to seaweed production enterprises, guide them to complete the registration of export food production enterprises, and improve the quality and safety control system of the entire chain from raw material acceptance, processing to export. At the same time, in response to the strong heat sensitivity of seaweed products and the need for timely processing after landing, on the one hand, we remind enterprises to optimize processing procedures, shorten raw material processing cycles, and on the other hand, open a "green channel" for agricultural product exports, optimize inspection processes, compress customs clearance time, effectively ensure product quality and export compliance, and minimize enterprise time and logistics costs.
