Mount Huangshan Customs seized alive gecko in cargo hold of inbound flight

Recently, the Mount Huangshan Customs officers of Hefei Customs seized a live gecko in the cargo hold of the entry aircraft, which was identified as a truncated gecko by the laboratory. This species belongs to the gecko family and the tiger genus, characterized by short hind limbs and skin folds connecting the posterior edges of the thighs and calves. According to the Biosafety Law of the People's Republic of China, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine, and its implementing regulations, it is prohibited to bring or deliver live animals (excluding dogs and cats) into the country, including all mammals, birds, fish, crustaceans, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and other invertebrates, as well as animal genetic material.
