The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce answered reporters' questions about the British government's lack of support for the use of Mingyang Intelligent's wind turbine products

A reporter asked: Recently, the UK Secretary of State for Energy issued a statement on the Parliament website stating that the UK government does not support the use of Mingyang Intelligent's wind turbines in offshore wind power projects in the UK. What is China's comment on this?

Answer: We have taken note of the relevant statement from the British side. The UK's exclusion of Chinese products from its wind power projects on the grounds of "national security" is contrary to the UK's long-standing market philosophy of "openness and freedom", and is not conducive to the development of the local economy and the improvement of people's well-being in the UK. It will have a negative impact on bilateral economic and trade cooperation, and China firmly opposes this.

Prime Minister Stamer made it clear during his visit to China in January this year that the UK is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in various fields such as trade, investment, finance, and environmental protection, to help each other's economic growth and bring benefits to the people of both countries. I hope the British government can provide a fair, just, and non discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises, effectively promote pragmatic cooperation in the field of Sino British economy and trade, and promote the healthy development of bilateral relations.
