Wei Min stated that internationalization is one of the core directions for the transformation and upgrading of Guangzhou's professional market, and it is also an important support for enhancing the city's international commercial and trade functions. Currently, nearly 30% of professional markets in Guangzhou are engaged in foreign trade business, with a large number of overseas buyers gathered in commercial and trade markets, Wanling Plaza, Jiahe City, and other markets, becoming important nodes for foreign permanent operations and global procurement. Wei Min introduced that by 2025, Guangzhou's professional markets will receive more than 20 million overseas buyers, and the market procurement export volume will reach 10.95 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.5%, indicating a strong trend of international development.

At the press conference, it was learned that Guangzhou's commerce department will establish a "six modernizations" indicator system around the internationalization of professional markets, and promote two-way market opening and upgrading with three key tasks.

In terms of optimizing foreign procurement services, Guangzhou will create a foreign friendly business environment, establish foreigner management service stations and foreign service centers in key professional markets, form an international volunteer service team, and provide one-stop services such as translation, law, and foreign exchange settlement; Improve the multilingual identification system, optimize cross-border payment services, and promote core merchants to open mainstream overseas bank card payments; Relying on the resources of the Canton Fair platform, we hold an annual conference to connect global merchants with professional markets, and open 10 exhibition halls directly to professional market procurement lines to promote the deep integration of procurement with business, travel, cultural and sports exhibitions, and enhance the concentration and convenience of foreign investment.
