The first two Fujian's imports and exports to Africa reached a historic high during the same period

With the continuous deepening of China Africa economic and trade cooperation and the increasing complementarity of industrial structure, the trade between Fujian and Africa is accelerating, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of foreign trade in the province. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, in the first two months of this year, Fujian Province's imports and exports to Africa amounted to 18.167 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.97%, reaching a new historical high for the same period; Among them, exports amounted to 10.914 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 54.42%; Imports amounted to 7.253 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.97%, achieving dual growth in imports and exports.

From the perspective of export commodities, in the first two months, Fujian Province exported 5.092 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, 2.099 billion yuan of labor-intensive products, and 1.265 billion yuan of agricultural products to Africa, accounting for 77.48% of the total export value of Fujian Province to Africa during the same period. Among them, the exports of steel bars, photovoltaic products, and plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles were 194 million yuan, 121 million yuan, and 75 million yuan respectively, a year-on-year increase of 321.68 times, 35.41 times, and 29.79 times, respectively.

In terms of imports, metal ore and mineral sand remain the most important products imported by Fujian Province to Africa, with a total import value of 5.03 billion yuan from January to February, a year-on-year increase of 20.38%, accounting for 69.35% of Fujian Province's total import value to Africa during the same period.

From the perspective of business entities, in the first two months, private enterprises in Fujian Province imported and exported 12.561 billion yuan, accounting for 69.14% of the province's total import and export value to Africa during the same period; Among them, exports amounted to 8.384 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 53.59%, while imports amounted to 4.177 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.75%. State owned enterprises have shown strong growth in their import and trade with Africa, with a total import and export volume of 4.623 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.30%; Among them, exports amounted to 1.641 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.15 times, while imports amounted to 2.982 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.21%.

According to officials from Xiamen Customs, with the increasingly close cooperation between China and Africa, Fujian's imports and exports to Africa are showing a good situation of "multi-point blooming". South Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Nigeria are among the top three trading partners. In the first two months, Fujian Province's imports and exports to South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Nigeria were 3.078 billion yuan, 2.431 billion yuan, and 1.514 billion yuan, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 35.34%, 17.28%, and 19.05%, respectively. During the same period, the import and export growth rate of Fujian Province to Liberia, Tunisia, and Zambia was significant, with year-on-year increases of 27.42 times, 3.35 times, and 1.84 times, respectively.
