On April 1st, a batch of canned tomato sauce weighing 80 tons was sent to Nigeria after passing the inspection and quarantine by Yuyao Customs, marking the landing of the pilot work for the "batch inspection (quarantine)" reform of canned food exports nationwide in Ningbo. This is the first time in Zhejiang Province that the "batch inspection (quarantine)" mode has been used to supervise the release of processed foods for export, opening up a new channel for expanding the export of agricultural and food products in Zhejiang.
With the continuous expansion of overseas business, we have a higher demand for customs clearance efficiency, "said Jin Weijun, General Manager of Yuyao Yijia Food Technology Co., Ltd
The reform of batch inspection (quarantine) for exported agricultural and food products is a new regulatory model in which customs scientifically sets inspection batches based on the quality and safety characteristics of exported agricultural and food products. This mode determines "products manufactured with the same raw materials, concentration, packaging, specifications, and composition, under basically the same time period and consistent conditions" as a "batch inspection unit" for inspection and quarantine. After the first batch of exported goods from the "same batch inspection unit" pass the on-site inspection, the customs will only verify the relevant documents for subsequent declared goods and will no longer conduct on-site inspections, thereby further improving the clearance efficiency of the enterprise.
In order to promote the precise and direct implementation of preferential policies for enterprises, Yuyao Customs has conducted on-site research on enterprises multiple times, promoted reform measures and conducted business training, guided enterprises to improve their quality management system, guided enterprises to correctly declare and standardize operations, streamlined business processing procedures, and helped enterprises fully share the benefits of reform.
Ningbo Customs actively promotes the pilot reform of "batch inspection" for canned tomato sauce exports nationwide, and we also promote self-service printing of inspection and quarantine certificates to help export agricultural and food products "smoothly" globally, "said Fan Dongbo, head of the Inspection and Quarantine Department of Yuyao Customs.
In the first quarter of this year, Ningbo Customs supervised and released 2887.04 tons of canned tomato sauce for export, with a value of 30.1503 million yuan, an increase of 113.96% and 77.76% year-on-year, respectively. (Jiang Hanbing, Yu Qilin, Wang Zhouyan/text)
