Nanning, Guangxi builds a new digital trade hub for ASEAN
Nanning, March 24 (Xinhua) -- According to information provided by the Nanning Municipal Bureau of Commerce on the 24th, the import and export volume of cross-border e-commerce in Nanning during the 14th Five Year Plan period reached 53.5 billion yuan, and the scale of cross-border e-commerce industry facing ASEAN continued to grow.
In recent years, Nanning has continued to focus on cross-border e-commerce integration services, continuously improving the industrial ecology, optimizing the development environment, and expanding cooperation channels, striving to build a new digital trade hub for ASEAN.
According to the Nanning Municipal Bureau of Commerce, two leading Southeast Asian e-commerce platforms, Lazada and Shopee, have been introduced and established warehouses in the local area. Lazada has set up China's first cross-border ecological innovation service center in Nanning, attracting a group of large cross-border e-commerce enterprises such as Shopee Technology, Suhongda, and Xiecheng Logistics to gather.
Nanning City is promoting the accelerated integration of AI+cross-border e-commerce. The 2025 ASEAN "AI+Cross border E-commerce" Innovation Application Competition was held in Nanning, which has produced a number of innovative achievements, stimulated the momentum of enterprise AI application, and helped enterprises expand into the ASEAN market. The "Smart Connect" innovation reform project for cross-border trade multi zone linkage in Nanning area of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone has been fully put into operation, breaking through the bottleneck of cross-border trade multi zone circulation.
Nanning City has established the Guangxi ASEAN Cross border E-commerce Headquarters Base and three major cross-border e-commerce supervision centers, promoting the construction of overseas warehouses, border warehouses, and central warehouses. The construction of overseas warehouses by enterprises covers countries such as Thailand and Vietnam under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, as well as Europe and America, and has initially formed a cross-border e-commerce supply chain system oriented towards ASEAN.
The cross-border logistics network of Nanning towards ASEAN continues to improve. The China Vietnam express customs clearance train achieves "same day departure, same day arrival, same day customs clearance", and the "station to station" operation time is stable within 14 hours; The daily carrying capacity of the three major cross-border e-commerce regulatory centers has exceeded 2 million orders, with 600000 packages sent to ASEAN every day, and the cross-border e-commerce clearance time has been compressed to 1 hour.
Financial and communication support is strong. Nanning City introduces cross-border RMB payment services and launches the "China ASEAN Cross border Trade and Financial Interconnection Platform"; It was approved to set up the International Communications Business Import and Export Bureau to effectively solve the "detour" problem of Internet access to ASEAN.
