Recently, in the production workshop of Lusheng Wood Products Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Dunhua City, machines were roaring and production and sales were booming. The finely textured white oak boards were carefully crafted through multiple processes and transformed into exquisite solid wood tabletops, which are about to be sent to the European market. Customer orders are fully booked, and the production line has been operating at full capacity since the beginning of the year. This year's orders have already been scheduled for the second quarter, "said Jin Yongchun, the company's leader, as he shuttled through the workshop with pride in his words.
This wooden products enterprise with an export value exceeding 33 million yuan this year was just a small workshop founded by the Jin Yongchun couple more than ten years ago. In 2018, the couple had the idea of expanding their export business, but due to their lack of knowledge about foreign technical standards, export clearance processes, and international trade risks, they were unable to take any further steps.

The export of wooden products is a characteristic industry in Yanbian, but the constantly updated technical trade measures and high standard requirements abroad are common challenges faced by enterprises in their development. Li Hongbo, the head of the Dunhua Comprehensive Business Department of Yanji Customs, told reporters that in response to the pain points in this industry, the customs has specially established a research group on technical trade measures for exporting wooden products, dynamically tracking changes in regulations and policies of major exporting countries, timely issuing risk warning information to enterprises, and regularly guiding enterprises to improve their quality management system, building a solid quality defense line for wooden product exports.
Statistics show that from January to February, Yanji Customs supervised a total of 126 batches of exported wooden products with a value of 39.472 million yuan, an increase of 9.6% and 8.5% year-on-year, respectively, laying a solid foundation for the development of the industry throughout the year. Next, the customs will continue to optimize regulatory service measures, strengthen policy information collection and accurate interpretation in response to the common concerns of wood product export enterprises, and fully support more Yanbian wood product enterprises to explore international markets, so that "Yanbian Made" wood products can go further and make a louder voice.
