The US trade deficit increased in February

New York, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Data released by the US Department of Commerce on the 2nd showed that due to import growth exceeding export growth, the US trade deficit in goods and services in February was $57.3 billion, an increase of $2.7 billion or 4.9% compared to the previous month.

Data shows that in February, the export value of goods and services in the United States was $314.8 billion, and the import value was $372.1 billion, an increase of 4.2% and 4.3% respectively compared to the previous month. The trade deficit in goods increased by 2.5 billion US dollars and the trade surplus in services decreased by 200 million US dollars in the current month.

Among them, driven by an increase of $10.2 billion in non monetary gold and $1.3 billion in natural gas exports, the US commodity exports increased by $11.5 billion in February.
