Ningbo Customs announced on March 16th that from January to February this year, the total declared import and export volume of goods at Ningbo Port in Zhejiang Province reached 494.45 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of 12.9% year-on-year (the same below). Among them, the European Union is the largest trading partner of Ningbo Port.
Against the backdrop of complex and volatile global economy, Ningbo Port's foreign trade has withstood multiple pressures and achieved a good start. Among them, the export performance was impressive, reaching 388.97 billion yuan, an increase of 16%; Imports amounted to 105.48 billion yuan, an increase of 2.5%.
In terms of market, in the first two months, the European Union, the United States, and ASEAN were the top three trading partners of Ningbo Port. Among them, the import and export volume of Ningbo Port to the European Union and ASEAN was 94.95 billion yuan and 55.88 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 19.3% and 22.2%, respectively, accounting for more than 30% of the overall foreign trade of Ningbo Port. Over the same period, the import and export of Ningbo Port to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" reached 263.14 billion yuan, up 17%.
From the perspective of export commodities, electromechanical products and labor-intensive products account for the majority. In the first two months, Ningbo Port exported 211.16 billion yuan worth of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 17.9%; The export of labor-intensive products reached 113.45 billion yuan, an increase of 16.7%. In addition, the export performance of the "new three types" (new energy vehicles, lithium batteries, and photovoltaic products) is impressive, with new energy vehicle exports growing by 144.5%.
As a strong foreign trade city in China, Ningbo Port has further enhanced its radiation power to the surrounding areas. In the first two months, the import and export volume of enterprises from other regions in Zhejiang Province through Ningbo Port reached 196.01 billion yuan, an increase of 16%, contributing 48.1% to the overall growth of import and export at Ningbo Port.
