According to statistics from Yinchuan Customs, the total import and export value of the autonomous region's foreign trade in the first two months of 2026 was 3.81 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.9%, 5.6 percentage points higher than the national growth rate, ranking 10th in the country in terms of growth rate; Among them, exports reached 2.94 billion yuan, an increase of 25.6%, 6.4 percentage points higher than the national growth rate, ranking 12th in the country in terms of growth rate. Imports reached 870 million yuan, an increase of 18.7%, 1.6 percentage points higher than the national growth rate, ranking 16th in the country in terms of growth rate.
The vitality of market entities bursts forth. Driven by both private and state-owned enterprises, we are making every effort to stabilize orders and expand the market. Private enterprises, as the main force, imported and exported 3.4 billion yuan in the first two months, an increase of 39.9%, accounting for 89.2% of the total import and export value of the autonomous region. State owned enterprises have strong guarantees and achieved a growth rate of 21.8% in the first two months, playing a key role in energy and resource supply and industrial chain resilience.
The international market layout is diverse and advancing together. In the first two months, our region achieved trade relations with 130 countries and regions, and our market territory continued to expand. Traditional and emerging markets have made concerted efforts to strengthen their anti risk ability, showing strong resilience to traditional markets. Our region's import and export to traditional markets (the United States, Europe, Japan, Britain, etc.) amounted to 1.03 billion yuan, accounting for 27.2% of the total import and export value of the autonomous region. Emerging markets continue to play the role of new engines and growth poles, and import and export to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" amounted to 2.11 billion yuan, up 45.9%. Ghana, Central Asia, and Central and Eastern European countries have accelerated their trade exchanges with our region, with growth rates of 4408.8%, 76.2%, and 16.4%, respectively.
The export performance is impressive, and the growth of productive imports is strong. The industrial transformation of the autonomous region is accelerating, with a significant increase in the export of mechanical and electrical products. In the first two months, exports reached 890 million yuan, an increase of 100.7%; The export share of traditional advantageous products continues to expand, with exports of basic organic chemicals and ferroalloys increasing by 17.3% and 47.3% respectively; The export of agricultural products reached 300 million yuan, an increase of 13.6%. The import of metal ore and mineral sand reached 330 million yuan, an increase of 426.7%, fully ensuring production demand; The import of agricultural products reached 170 million yuan, an increase of 72.6%, driving the continuous improvement of imports.
The relevant person in charge of Yinchuan Customs stated that since the beginning of this year, the customs have achieved initial results in promoting the opening system of the autonomous region's "11228". With the support of mechanisms such as "the customs chief delivering policies to the door" and "one enterprise, one policy", we ensure that policy dividends are implemented and make every effort to promote foreign trade enterprises to go abroad with light equipment, improve quality and expand their borders.
