Recently, Yantai Customs officers under Qingdao Customs seized 35.1 kilograms of frozen crabs illegally brought into the country by passengers through the airport travel inspection channel.
During on-site supervision of the luggage and belongings of an inbound passenger, customs officers discovered abnormal images of the checked baggage passing through the "no declaration channel". After inspection, 3 boxes of frozen crabs totaling 35.1 kilograms were found in the passenger's luggage.
According to the "List of Animals, Plants, Their Products, and Other Quarantine Items Prohibited from Carrying or Sending into the People's Republic of China", aquatic animal products (excluding edible sauces made by drying, cooking, or fermentation) are prohibited from being carried or sent into the country. At present, the customs have temporarily detained the above-mentioned items.
