Spring opening red: Ningde vegetables compete for "fresh" overseas
Recently, a batch of fresh seafood mushrooms weighing about 2.1 tons from Fujian Fuquanxin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. were successfully sent to Vietnam after remote inspection by Ningde Customs officers under Fuzhou Customs. They will soon be served on the dining tables of local people.
As the "Capital of Edible Fungi in China", the edible mushrooms produced in Ningde City, Fujian Province, are highly favored by foreign consumers due to their quality advantages and have become a sought after commodity in the global market. According to statistics from Ningde Customs, in the first two months of 2026, Ningde City exported vegetables and edible mushrooms worth 150 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.2%, achieving a good start.
Mushroom cultivation is greatly influenced by planting techniques and environment, and ordinary growers lack technical guidance compared to large mushroom production enterprises. To this end, Ningde Customs organized business experts to go deep into rural areas to explain the new export standards for edible mushrooms to frontline growers. On site, they also educated growers on how to strictly control pesticide residues, pathogenic bacteria, and other issues that affect exports in key links such as mushroom bag production and mushroom management. At the same time, strict registration and admission standards for planting bases have been implemented, with 5 newly registered fresh edible mushroom planting sites completed in the first two months of this year.
We have also strengthened cooperation and coordination with local government departments, opened up information sharing channels, and strengthened the full chain supervision of food exports. In the first two months of this year, we jointly conducted supervision and sampling inspections on 6 batches of edible mushrooms from 13 sub enterprises, and strictly controlled the quality and safety of exported food, "said Zhang Yonghao, head of the Enterprise Management Department of Ningde Customs.
While strictly regulating, considering the short shelf life and high requirements for customs clearance of edible mushrooms, Ningde Customs has launched a remote local inspection and supervision mode for vegetables, achieving "online verification and offline control" through video conferencing, saving an average of 50% of export customs clearance time per batch of products.
From production stocking to smooth export, the full chain service of customs not only helps us grasp the bottom line of product quality, but also greatly improves customs clearance efficiency, making our exported products fresh and fast, and continuously improving overseas customer satisfaction, "said Su Beibei, Customs Manager of Fujian Fuquanxin Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
