State Council Tariff Commission: Adjusting tariff measures on some imported goods originating in Canada

Beijing, February 27 (Xinhua) -- The State Council Tariff Commission issued a notice on February 27 stating that in order to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Canada, and in accordance with the basic principles of international law such as the Tariff Law of the People's Republic of China, the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, and the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, from March 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026, the tariff measures stipulated in the "Announcement of the State Council Tariff Commission on Imposing Tariffs on Some Imported Goods Originating in Canada" (Tariff Commission Announcement No. 3 of 2025) will be adjusted, without imposing 100% tariffs on oil residue cakes and peas originating in Canada, as well as on lobsters and peas originating in Canada. The crab is subject to a 25% tariff.
