Recently, Huangdao Customs under Qingdao Customs seized 1.5 tons of mattress packaging materials in an empty box declared for entry.

During the supervision, the customs officer found that the imported empty container indicated abnormal weight at the weighing stage of the gate. They conducted an on-site inspection and found that 7 pallets of goods were illegally loaded into the container. After verification, the actual goods were mattress packaging accessories, totaling 42 packages with a total weight of 1.5 tons.

According to the relevant provisions of the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, the consignee and consignor of imported and exported goods shall truthfully declare to the customs, and it is prohibited to carry any goods or items in the empty box upon entry.
