Guangzhou Customs launches 12 facilitation measures for the 140th Canton Fair

Guangzhou Customs held a press conference on October 9th and released 12 measures to support the convenience of the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in 2026. The newly released convenience measures include measures such as "supporting the inspection of exhibition items at the museum" and "supporting the export of agricultural products and food".

The 140th Canton Fair will be held in three phases from October 15th to November 4th in Guangzhou, with a total exhibition area of approximately 1.55 million square meters and over 75000 booths, attracting 32000 companies to participate.

The convenience measures released this time revolve around supporting efficient customs clearance of exhibition items and personnel, dispatching personnel to provide on-site services, supporting the inspection of imported exhibition items at the venue, supporting the entry of food and cosmetics for exhibitions, supporting the enjoyment of tax incentives for retained exhibition items, optimizing the convenient inspection mode for exit tax refunds, implementing the pilot reform of "batch inspection (quarantine)" for exports, supporting the export of agricultural products and food, etc., to ensure smooth and efficient customs clearance of import and export merchants and exhibition items at the Canton Fair.

Yu Lixin, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Customs, introduced the newly added measures at the press conference. He stated that the on-site inspection is to meet the needs of enterprise logistics transportation and exhibition setup. It embeds customs inspection into the process of transporting exhibition items to the exhibition hall for exhibition setup, achieving a dual improvement in customs clearance and exhibition setup efficiency; In terms of supporting the export of agricultural products, export agricultural product enterprises or breeding bases may be exempted from on-site customs assessment when submitting external recommendation applications to the customs based on the recommendation opinions obtained through advance application to the agricultural and rural departments.

The first batch of imported exhibits at this year's Canton Fair have successfully cleared customs and entered the country at Nansha Port in Guangzhou on September 27th. As of October 9th, 10 batches of Canton Fair exhibits have entered the country from ports such as Nansha Port and Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou. It is expected that more exhibits will enter the country in the coming days.

On the same day, Guangzhou Customs also released the customs clearance instructions for this year's Canton Fair, which reminded exhibitors and relevant personnel of the relevant customs clearance policies and regulations in eight aspects, including Canton Fair filing, exhibition product approval and admission, import material declaration, exhibition product inspection and release, exhibition supervision, exhibition product disposal, personnel and personal belongings supervision, and journalist interview equipment.
