At the beginning of the year, we will sprint towards Yantai Customs to fully guarantee the "good start" of bulk resource-based commodities

In early spring, Yantai Port is bustling with giant ships shuttling and goods flowing smoothly, huge gantry cranes operating efficiently, and busy loading and unloading at the port. Recently, a large cargo ship carrying 93800 tons of fuel oil from Malaysia slowly docked at Yantai Port and was under the supervision of Yantai Customs under Qingdao Customs for orderly customs clearance and loading and unloading.

This centralized testing of fuel oil is our first large-scale practical operation after passing the qualification expansion review in November 2025, "said Xu Hongyan, head of the Yantai Customs Technology Center Mineral and Gold Testing Laboratory. With the addition of full testing capabilities, customs testing has achieved" on-site testing at the port and rapid issuance of results "for fuel oil, completely compressing the original process of remote inspection and multi link circulation. The overall clearance time has been shortened by 3 to 4 working days, truly allowing enterprises to unload, clear customs, start production and achieve early results.

As the lifeline of local industrial production and foreign trade development, the clearance efficiency of bulk resource-based commodities directly affects the production capacity and port competitiveness of enterprises. We are based on the actual situation of the port, implementing the principles of 'advance declaration, appointment inspection, and on-site inspection' in every shift, promoting the transformation of supervision from 'serial' to 'parallel', and inspection from 'manual' to 'intelligent'. We inspect and release ships as soon as they arrive and pass the inspection. While safeguarding the bottom line of national security, we also maximize the convenience of customs clearance, "said Zhang Chunbo, the head of the Inspection Department of the Yantai Customs Port Office.

After the acceleration of customs inspection, the demurrage time of ships has significantly decreased, logistics costs have continued to decline, raw material supply has kept up, and enterprises have more confidence in starting production this year. "Zhong Xiaoning, Business Manager of Shandong Guorun International Logistics Co., Ltd., said that efficient customs clearance has won valuable time for enterprises to seize production and market share.

In the first two months of this year, Yantai Customs supervised and released over 12 million tons of bulk mineral products such as copper concentrate and iron ore, and over 5 million tons of various oil products such as fuel oil and crude oil. (Kong Xinxin, Liu Qianhui/Text)
