The first LNG liquid public bonded warehouse in southern Zhejiang has been approved
On February 24th, Wenzhou Customs announced that Zhejiang Zheneng Wenzhou Liquefied Natural Gas Co., Ltd.'s liquid public bonded warehouse has been approved, marking Wenzhou's "zero breakthrough" in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG) bonded warehousing and laying a solid foundation for Wenzhou to deepen its opening up to the outside world and build a green energy hub in southern Zhejiang during the "15th Five Year Plan" period.
Against the backdrop of the global shipping industry accelerating its transition towards green and low-carbon, LNG, as an important green and clean energy source, continues to have a growing demand. The bonded warehouse is built based on the Zhejiang Energy Wenzhou LNG receiving station, and in the future, it can carry out diversified businesses such as bonded LNG storage, international ship refueling, and ship cold storage. Its implementation will not only significantly enhance the regional energy security and resource allocation capabilities of Wenzhou Port, promote the upgrading of Wenzhou from an energy logistics channel to an international green energy trade and service center, but also inject new momentum into the construction of a safe, efficient, clean and low-carbon modern energy system in Zhejiang.
The approval of the bonded warehouse has opened up a key link for us to seamlessly connect with the international market, "said the person in charge of Zhejiang Energy Wenzhou Liquefied Natural Gas Co., Ltd. Through the bonded policy, imported LNG can be stored with deferred taxes and reported as needed. Enterprises do not need to pay taxes at once during the import process, which can effectively alleviate financial pressure. At the same time, enterprises can choose different business models and carry out international energy distribution more flexibly, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the global clean energy market.
"This is not only a breakthrough of a single project, but also an important measure for Wenzhou to improve its position in the regional energy supply chain, serve the country's' dual carbon 'strategy, and deeply integrate into the energy cooperation of the joint construction of the' the Belt and Road '," said Liu Yan, head of the Bonded Supervision Section of Wenzhou Customs.
Based on the new starting point of the 15th Five Year Plan, Wenzhou Customs will continue to focus on the needs and development realities of enterprises, strengthen policy guidance and on-site support, support enterprises to fully utilize the benefits of bonded policies to smoothly carry out business, promote the growth of this project into a key node in regional energy trade, and continuously add "green power" to the city's high-level opening-up and high-quality development.
