On February 4th, the Niuean container ship "Boda 89/MERATUS CIANJUR", newly built by Ningbo Boda Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., departed from Shipu Port for export overseas after joint inspection by customs, border inspection, maritime and other port inspection units.
This is the first ship export business welcomed by Shipu Port Area after its official opening, marking a strategic opportunity period for Ningbo's shipbuilding industry.
In December 2025, the opening of Xiangshan Shipu Port officially passed the national acceptance and has the qualification for international navigation vessels to enter and exit the port. It is reported that before the opening of the Shipu Port, local shipyards and repair yards in Ningbo exported international navigation ships that needed to be delivered by detouring to other places. Now, they can be delivered at home, which can help enterprises save 2 to 3 days of delivery time and reduce the cost of single ship delivery by about 200000 yuan.
According to statistics from Xiangshan Customs, in 2025, the export value of goods and ships from Xiangshan reached 1.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.9%, setting a new historical high; The ship types include high-tech ships such as container ships and multi-purpose ships. After the opening of Shipu Port, it will benefit 17 shipyards.
However, the "long cycle, heavy asset" characteristics of the shipbuilding industry still pose challenges for enterprises. In response to the tightening of bank credit and difficulties in guarantee, Xiangshan Customs has taken innovative service measures and launched a diversified guarantee model of "insurance+guarantee". By 2025, the cumulative cost of enterprise capital occupation will be reduced by 36.46 million yuan.
This ship carrying special significance has sailed towards the deep blue sea, and Shipu Port Area has ushered in a new development opportunity. In addition to ship repair and export business, the port area will also vigorously develop industries such as cold chain logistics and high-end aquatic products, creating a maritime gateway radiating to the eastern Zhejiang region.
