Recently, at Longyan Port in Rongcheng, Shandong, a large liquefied natural gas (LNG) transport ship section built by Samsung Heavy Industries (Rongcheng) Co., Ltd. was launched for sea transportation. The ship section weighs 6654 tons and will be assembled into a large LNG transport vessel upon arrival abroad.
LNG transport ships are high-tech and high value-added vessels, and their design and construction involve low-temperature materials, insulation systems, and complex safety processes. In the international context of accelerating the global energy structure towards green and low-carbon transformation and sustained growth in demand for liquefied natural gas, the LNG carrier market is thriving.
In 2025, our newly launched liquefied natural gas ship segment will export 28.5 million US dollars, and in 2026, we will put into operation ultra large liquid ammonia transport ships with low-temperature storage tanks. The current business development momentum is very smooth, "said Wang Zhiqiang, the head of the company's business department.
Rongcheng has a complete shipbuilding industry chain, with an annual total ship production capacity of 1 million tons. In recent years, Rongcheng Customs, a subsidiary of Qingdao Customs, has actively served the development of shipbuilding enterprises in its jurisdiction, supported the landing of projects such as ultra large liquefied natural gas ship sections and liquid ammonia transport ship sections, tailored the "advance declaration+ship side supervision" customs clearance mode for ultra large ship sections, and saved 4 million yuan in enterprise freight costs; Guide enterprises to file processing and trade manuals on a "one ship, one book" basis, and combine them with "favorable policy packages" such as deposit reduction and exemption, releasing approximately 80 million yuan of enterprise capital occupation; We will implement convenient measures such as online booking, instant reporting and release, and one-stop services, and accelerate the speed of ship entry and exit by 20%.
According to statistics, Rongcheng will export ships and ship sections worth 5.45 billion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%. (Chen Jun/Wen)
