The early harvest arrangement of the China Congo (Brazzaville) Joint Development Economic Partnership Agreement has officially come into effect

On November 4, 2025, China and the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) signed the "Arrangement on Early Harvest of the Economic Partnership Agreement for Common Development between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Congo". At present, both China and Congo have completed their respective domestic ratification procedures, and the early acceptance arrangement will officially take effect on April 1, 2026.

The early collection arrangement of Zhonggang mainly covers the relevant content of tariff reduction for goods trade. According to the arrangement, 100% of China's taxable products will eventually achieve zero tariffs on Congo, and Congo's characteristic agricultural products such as Poria cocos, peanuts, cocoa beans, etc. will accelerate their entry into the Chinese market; The Congo side will also implement zero tariffs on some Chinese products, and Chinese machinery, equipment, chemicals, etc. will better support the industrialization process of Congo. Both parties also reached an agreement on rules of origin, implementation procedures, and mechanism settings.

The effective implementation of the arrangement will be conducive to promoting the balanced development of bilateral trade, stimulating the potential for cooperation, and injecting new momentum into the construction of an all-weather China Africa community with a shared future in the new era.

China will continue to promote the negotiation and signing of economic partnership agreements with other African countries, establish long-term, stable, and predictable institutional guarantees for China Africa trade and investment, and share opportunities and common development with African countries.
