Xinmin Shangguan: Breaking through one million vehicles for four consecutive years! Waigang Haitong Terminal achieved a new high in exports in the first three quarters
Rolling wheels heading towards the world! The Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Area Haitong International Automobile Terminal (referred to as "Waigang Haitong Terminal"), located at the mouth of the Yangtze River, has now become an important gateway for Chinese automobiles to go global. The latest data shows that in the first three quarters of this year, the export volume of cars from the terminal reached 1.109 million, a year-on-year increase of 14.2%, setting a new historical high. It is worth mentioning that this has been the fourth consecutive year that the port's automobile exports have exceeded one million units.
The Outer Harbor Haitong Port is located at the mouth of the Yangtze River. With its location advantage of connecting the river and the sea, as well as its dense shipping routes connecting the world, it has become one of the preferred ports for domestic car companies to export. With the continuous development of the car export roll on/roll off business, the export routes of Waigang Haitong Port have covered 289 ports in 131 countries and regions worldwide, with an average of 2 to 3 roll on/roll off ships loaded with domestic cars sailing out to sea every day.
Behind the smooth "going global" of domestic cars is the efficient linkage and cooperation among cars, ships, and ports. We actively play the role of 'customs enterprise liaison officers', and through online business coordination mechanisms, obtain export roll on/roll off ship berthing plans in advance. We work closely with Haitong Port to seamlessly connect the entire customs clearance logistics process from vehicle entry, stacking, inspection, vehicle movement to release, establish a car clearance appointment and emergency response mechanism, continuously optimize customs clearance supervision processes and links, and ensure the safety, smoothness, and efficiency of car exports, "said Chen Jia, the head of the Ninth Inspection Department of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Customs.
The continuous popularity of automobile exports from the Outer Harbor Haitong Port is also a vivid reflection of Shanghai Port. According to statistics from Shanghai Customs, in the first three quarters of this year, Shanghai Port exported 2.05 million vehicles of automobiles, a year-on-year increase of 15%, accounting for over one-third of the country's total exports.
