Rizhao blueberries are exported overseas for the first time

Recently, after passing inspection by Rizhao Customs under Qingdao Customs, a batch of fresh blueberries weighing 2.2 tons with excellent appearance and full flavor were transported abroad by cold chain transport vehicles from the planting base of Yuhai Blueberry Bay Ecological Agriculture Tourism Co., Ltd. in Rizhao City. This is the first export of Rizhao blueberries, marking the official opening of the international market for high-quality local specialty fresh fruits.

Rizhao Chentuan is located in the golden fruit planting belt at 36 ° N latitude, with abundant sunshine and suitable temperature difference between day and night. Its unique natural conditions are very suitable for the growth and breeding of blueberries, and it has been named the "Hometown of Blueberries in China". Relying on superior resource endowments, the regional blueberry industry continues to expand and improve in quality, with increasing planting scale and standardized management levels, laying a solid industrial foundation for characteristic agricultural products to go global.

Rizhao blueberries have long been popular in first tier domestic markets such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, but they have not yet gone abroad. With mature planting techniques and excellent fruit quality, we are confident in our overseas development, "said Yao Ming, the head of the company. It is reported that the company has a blueberry planting base of over 700 acres, covering multiple high-quality varieties, with an annual output stable at around 400 tons.

To assist local characteristic agricultural products in going global and empower high-quality development of outward oriented agriculture, Rizhao Customs accurately meets the needs of enterprises, providing full follow-up guidance from orchard registration and production process standardization to export declaration and customs clearance. At the same time, the customs actively collects inspection and quarantine requirements for imported fruits from abroad, assists enterprises in improving their quality and safety control system, standardizes key processes such as packaging labeling and product traceability, and comprehensively fills in the gaps in export compliance.

In response to the perishable nature of blueberries, Rizhao Customs has opened a "green channel" for fresh and perishable agricultural and food products, implementing preferential policies such as priority declaration, priority inspection, and priority release, minimizing customs clearance time and locking in fresh fruit quality.

The reform of customs clearance facilitation combined with modern agricultural upgrading continues to accelerate the "export" of Rizhao's characteristic agricultural products, and more and more local high-quality agricultural products are transforming from "domestic hot selling items" to "overseas hot selling products". Data shows that in the first four months of this year, the export of agricultural products in Rizhao City was about 3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.3%. Featured agricultural products are becoming a new highlight in driving local foreign trade growth. (Song Ge/Wen)
